Born on Oct. 28, 1955, Gates grew up in Seattle with his two sisters.
Wow, Mr. Microsoft will be 50 years old. Here's a thread where we can all celebrate his birthday (whether we love him, or curse at him everyday).

I'd just like wish Steve Jobs a wonderful day today.
May you prosper and build ever more cool nanoPods and mega-Macs for years to come!

He's only turning fifty. He looks a lot older.
Depends on whether you are looking at the demo, or the real program.

To me, Bill Gates looks like he smells bad. I don't know what it is about him, but it's more icky than just being a geek.

I'd rather be poor, smell good and look cool, than be the richest man in the world and be a smelly lookin' geek. :D

Actually, he's almost averagely normal for a multibillionaire. One time I was flyig somewhere (can't remember where exactly) and I was standing in the line to board the plane. In the middle of that line was none other than Bill Gates, along with some of his entourage, flying COACH class. The cool thing is no one in line bugged him for autographs or anything like that. He may have changed somewhat since he married Melinda and had 2 kids, but he and his wife are doing lots of good with their billions...giving quite a bit of it away to their favorite health and education causes.
Paul Allen, on the other hand, owns the Portland Trailblazers, the Experience Music Project, a large tract of land just north of downtown Seattle that is being redeveloped into Yup city and flies around in a private jet (among other posessions). Different as night and day from his former partner.

I, for one, like the smell of money! :D
At least he is using his wealth to attack some of the world's most intractable social problems with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with an endowment of $28 billion.

Not me I'd rather be the richest man in the world all smelly and geeky like that rather than being poor and smell good because...
If you're rich you can take care of that smelly geeky look.
If you're poor, you can still fall into a shit hole and start your day smelling very bad.
