My dad was the youngest of 10 kids, 8 of them had kids which if you count them up came up to 24 people, with 20 of them still alive and an age range of about 30+ years between the oldest first cousin and the youngest first cousin.

I got a family member who works at the prison ova 30 + years
I have a boyfriend who is incarcerated, whom I visit every Saturday at OCCC! :eek:

You know... this is something that I really missed out on.
All my extended family are on the East Coast and even spread out there.

My wife on the other hand has many brothers and sisters, cousins, aunties, etc., and spent most of her life surrounded by a big family till she chose to come away with me to Hawai'i from Fiji.

We don't get to choose our family circumstances, but if I had a choice, think I would choose for more.

My grandma was a twin. They had a total of 17 kids. My dad has 5 other siblings with at least 3 kids each. I got 96 first cousins all total. That's a big family.

I have familly on each island except Kaho'olawe of course, and also in California, Utah, Texas and West Virginia. There are Hawaiian songs that were written for some of my uncles and aunts on many ocassions, and of course I am related to some of the hawaiian musicians. I work here at the Bishop museum and there are few people here I never thought I was related to but I am which my father and mother pointed that out very clearly to me. And I also have some familly members in prison too. SHUCKS!
