Snorkelling after storms?

I want to visit Maui soon, but would like to wait for good visibility for snorkelling. How long after these big storms would it make sense to wait? Are there any reefs that clear up sooner than others?

How long after these big storms would it make sense to wait? There are too many variables to give you a simple answer. Tides, currents, winds, bottom configuration and composition... all variables that can differ a few hundred feet apart, or less. Some spots will clear up in a day, others might be a week.
