A rash of thefts from city parks during the past three weeks has officials asking for your help.
Thieves are hitting one of the most basic services provided -- bathrooms.
Bathrooms are the target for these thieves. 28 parks on Oahu have been hit.
The thieves have made off with more than 100 flush valves.
New pipes are in place at Hans l'Orange Park. Valves from five of the six toilets there were ripped off.
It's a costly loss -- $100 a valve.
Now, if they steal the toilet paper too, then someone would be really pissed. LOL

if they steal the toilet paper tooIf that happens, check in with scrivener - he may have extra paper towels he can lend you.
On second thought, I don't think "lend" is the right word in this circumstance.

This is a common occurrence in HBO's fantastic show The Wire (http://www.google.com/url?sa=U&start=1&q=http://www.hbo.com/thewire/&e=9797). In the show, Baltimore crack addicts break into homes, businesses and public facilities to steal brass and copper plumbing and sell it to scrap yards and construction sites. I'd never heard of it happening anywhere I'd lived until now.

And that is why I bring my own small carry on TP & Hand sanitizer, :o ;) because I know that public restrooms never have either of them when I go to public parks, etc..

There have been instances a few years ago of thieves stealing the guard rails off of roadsides to sell for scrap metal. And I have heard of people stealing electrical equipment off of power poles for the copper wire.

Yeah, definately,
because when a person is done with it, I don't think they would want it back :o :p LOL.

Who needs the toilet when you can just stand under the public shower or wade out waist deep and let it go. A prerace dump would be a little harder though...man...with a hundred people that would back up awfuly fast...

LOL. Eh, don't do that if you get sinkers (or floaters too - wait, make sure there's no kids if you make floaters)

No need go that deep. You gotta be able to touch bottom so you can run away from the floaters, right?
