One of my favorite character actors Bruno Kirby (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0456124/) ,passed away yesterday.
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Bruno Kirby, a veteran character actor known for playing the best friend in two of Billy Crystal's biggest comedies, "When Harry Met Sally" and "City Slickers," has died. He was 57.

Kirby died Monday in Los Angeles from complications related to leukemia, his wife Lynn Sellers said in a statement Tuesday. He had been recently diagnosed with the disease.

I enjoyed his performance in "The Freshman," which starred Marlon Brando as a "Vito Corleone" look-alike and Matthew Broderick as the innocent "Clark Kellogg."

Man, this is sad news. He was a wonderful "everyman" kind of actor. Or should I say "ACTA?" Well, bless him forever more.

I always liked Bruno Kirby.

Two of his roles stand out to me: young Clemenza in The Godfather Part II and Jess in When Harry Met Sally.
