If you were required to choose a song title as your screen name on HawaiiThreads.com, which would it be and why? Is it your favorite tune of all time? Do the lyrics resemble yourself or your life?

From the thread (http://www.hawaiithreads.com/showthread.php?t=9884) which started this, Auntie Lynn already chose "Crazy" by Melveen Leed and LocalGrl chose "Local Girl" by Keahiwai.

Off the cuff, I'm going with RockLobster by the B-52's. Reason? It sounds cool, the song is cool, it defines my musical taste, I love the beach and the ocean, and I live on a "rock".

"Love Dance"!

I've always loved to dance altho' not all that great at it and haven't indulged that passion in a long, long time. Still, maybe in my next lifetime I can come back as a professional dancer who just happens to have the voice of Bianca Ryan! :D

Oh, I love that song, too, and have 19 versions of it in iTunes!

So hard to choose!

"I'm a Woman" - Maria Muldaur, cause I like the attitude

"Dirty Laundry" - Don Henley, cause there's always so much of it around

"Spooky" or "Stormy" - great songs by the Classics 4 (?), the Atlanta Rhythm Section and Santana ...

"Europa" - Gato Barbieri, Santana ... and the version Ray Cruz played last night on "Sabor Tropical" on KIPO -- by Ed Calle -- that had tears flowing out of my eyes after 5 seconds.

"Oye Como Va" - Santana, one of the best pieces of music ever made, IMHO.

"Jessica" - by the Allman Bros., another one of the best pieces of music ever made, and a name people mistakenly call me if the name "Erika" didn't stick in their heads after the introductions.

Nope. Can't decide. Too many choices. Head will explode now.

"Hips Don't Lie"

It's ME !!! While it's not my favorite tune of all time (Procol Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale" is), HDL fits me to a "T"!!! Remember, I live on the mainland, so nobody knows me here.

"Oh baby when you talk like that
You make a woman go mad
So be wise and keep on
Reading the signs of my body"

Das what I do !!!

So hard to choose! /snip Head will explode now.

*duct tapes Erika's head, just in case*

I first started posting on the net as Adriana and a friend (whom, I should note, has never met me in real life) decided Pretty Little Adriana should be my song.

I agree with Erika, though, too many choices *g*

Lyrics (www.arlo.net/resources/lyrics/waimanalo-blues.shtml) For me it'd have to be...Waimanalo Blues.

Winds gonna blow so I'm gonna go
Down on the road again.
Starting where the mountains left me,
I end up where I began...

For me it'd have to be...Waimanalo Blues.

"Nanakuli Blues", written by Liko Martin and Thor Wold, was popularized as "Waimanalo Blues" by Country Comfort. [One of the bits of info I've picked up by having lived in both Nanakuli and Waimanalo. :) Country life, da bes!]

Menehune Man, WaimanaloBlues is the coolest screen name EVER! That song by Country Comfort is like listening to God sing.

If I grew up in Waimanalo, that would DEFINATELY be my first choice.

That, along with KuuHomeOKahaluu by Olomana (as suggested by Kahaluʻu Chrome) would be ideal, as itʻs where I frequented as a kid growing up on the windward side.

Having an eclectic fit >>>> "Pride and Joy" by Stevie Ray Vaughan.WindwardOahuRN, a.k.a. Pride'n'Joy sounds perfect. SRV is one of the greatest bluesmen ever.

So hard to choose!>>>"Jessica" - by the Allman Bros., another one of the best pieces of music ever made, and a name people mistakenly call me if the name "Erika" didn't stick in their heads after the introductions.Erika Engle, a.k.a. Jessica sounds perfect. My girlfriend's name is Erica, but her Nihonjin friends call her "Elika" (those darned "R's"). If only her name was "Jessica", they could easily say that. "Jesika".

As the classic pidgin word goes, "Choice!"

Wait -- no can see da screen -- still get Adri's duct tape on my head!
:D

It's not a song title, but years ago my screen name on the HBO Boxing message board was BoxingDiva ... taken from News Diva, which is how a co-worker once introduced me to someone.

Cliff liked "news diva" so much it stuck, and that's how he'd introduce my newscasts on the Q ...

Something in a different language could be cool ... like 'bailamos' (Let's dance) ... not that I'm a great dancer, but great music *quoting Billy Crystal as Fernando* "makes me wanna dance like I don' know how."
