Re: Donating juror's pay to a non-profit organization

I'm not implying anything about the donations and support which have already been given over the years. My comments were intended as a fundraising matching challenge grant.

Got it. Enough...

Oh c'mon, guys, I'm a hardened serial discussion-board hijacker myself, but the whole point of this thread was to turn the jury "pay" into a positive experience by using it to help someone else avoid...

Um, no. I'm saying that I don't agree with you. You're putting words in my mouth.

Donating juror's pay to a non-profit organization

My juror pay (from the jury duty thread at http://www.hawaiithreads.com/showpost.php?p=257135&postcount=14) arrived this weekend: $85.74 from $30/day plus mileage.

Does anyone have any info...

Re: Hybrid cars, part deux!

Never noticed it. I'll have to look for it.

Ours dashboard is a matte gray and it's full of curves, so I wonder if that makes a difference.

It took me a long time to notice that the Prius' LED...

Re: Selling a Used Vehicle????

I think so. Spouse reads just about every post on Craigslist but I only search for what I'm buying. I'll go up to a month back in hopes of finding a, um, desperate seller.

You want a buyer who...

Re: Jury duty part 2/2 again

Both lawyers annoyed the heck out of us jurors. In my opinion the simplest concepts were explained in exceedingly great detail, perhaps due to problems with previous cases or appeals. However their...

Re: Jury duty part 1/2 again

I haven't found any website archives on this story, so I'm not going to use names. However it was clear from the "accidental testimony" and the defense's objections that we weren't supposed to hear...

Interesting point. I never showed ID. I never saw anyone have to show any ID. I guess the assumption is that if you're holding the summons then you're who it claims you are.

I can only imagine...

I'm not a TV watcher, but I bet there's no way the show can reach the vivid imagery (and character development) of the books.

Tess Gerritsen came to police procedurals and murder mysteries through...
