Re: The cost of soda
Walmart at Keeaumoku has soda vending machines near the entrance (near the bottled water machine) that sells 12 oz. canned sodas for 50 cents. There's a big sign above it that says so. A real bargain.

Re: Movie Listings on Star-Advertiser.com
They still have $6 Tuesdays, but now it's $7. And also, for a limited time, it's now on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. But I agree with you, the theaters are having a hard time. Recently, the movies...

Re: Canned Spam, a favorite in Hawaii. EEEEwwwww
I love Spam, so I guess I've been taking some of your share. But I don't go overboard on it.
Besides Hawaii and Guam, Okinawa, the Philippines, Saipan, and, believe it or not, Great Britain...

I didn't like the movie version of Daredevil as much as you did. I liked Netflix's version much better, at least the first season. (I haven't seen the second season.) I thought Netflix's version was...

Re: The lifetime of a television set?
The old cathode ray TVs really do last long. I had a 19" Sony bought in 1992. Shortly after 2005, I wanted to buy a flat screen TV but was in no hurry, so I was waiting for my Sony to break down...

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
I didn't like Man of Steel (too long, with neverending fight scenes) and I didn't like this sequel (too long, confusing, and overwrought, though I did think it was better than the previous one). But...

Another one bites the dust. I used to go there a lot, but that was in the 60s and early 70s. I'm sure that's true for a lot of folks. Just another reminder that nothing lasts forever.
