    Re: What's for lunch - Chapter 5

Checked out the Kulia Grill at the UH medical school in Kakaako with a friend and a coworker. The place is run by the culinary arts program at KCC. Really, really good stuff at great prices. I had a most excellent cheeseburger on an onion roll (serious cheeseburger, fries and drink for under $7!). My coworker had this awesome salad:

Spinach salad with a orange/ginger dressing, topped with honey walnuts and shrimp. I'm not one for frilly salads myself (give me simple iceberg anyday!), but it looked really good. I'll have to try it next time.

We made lasagna, Marie Calendar brand. Tasted pretty good! Ate it with that Texas Toast garlic bread.

Kalua pork, rice and mac salad from Aloha Island Catering, Portland, OR. Was tempted, but didn't buy: shave ice (the real stuff, not sno-cones) and Indian Fry Bread.

Ginger chicken on rice at Cafe Oriente on Mauna Kea St.

The food was quite good. The "special guest" that crawled out of my menu wasn't, though.
