Better luck tomorrow, then - but if it's not to be, it's not to be.

Maybe take Lucie to Hukilau Cafe in Laie? Get there before the cops do; if they eat there that day, there's nevah nahteen lef'! (Sorry - I promised not to attempt pidgin, didn't I? Bad haole - no poke. )

No Hukilau Cafe today, though? You know where it is, yeah? A couple blocks mauka of Kamehameha Highway, on Wahinepe`e Street; north of BYU, just south of Hukilau Beach Park. Not fancy - just good plate lunch.

I had lunch with the brilliant and warm Pali K. (of Pali, LavaNet, and even HT) at Palomino's! We both had the day's special, a seafood dish I can't remember the name of but loved the taste of, and while the food was great the conversation was even better.

Basically I overdosed myself on Mountain Dew on Wednesday consuming 72 ounces of the stuff (bottle in the morning, Big Gulp for lunch and another bottle in the afternoon), however if you check out the breakfast thread. I did have a bottle yesterday and I would have gotten one today but the vending machine ran out and I took Diet Pepsi instead to get the morning caffeine fix.

I try so hard not to give in to that, but I had to get a Coke this morning, too. (I don't like coffee, which I realize is sacreligious here in the PacNW.) And I had a Dew with yesterday's lunch; it's a slippery slope.

Nope. We couldn't go. We tired. I'm home eating KFC, my daughter bought for me!
