    Oceanic Time Warner Cable has been ordered to pay $40,000 in fines and to reimburse certain customers on Oahu and Kauai for implementing switched digital video service last November.

    That's a slap on the proverbial wrist.

    They spend that much to televise just two live OIA games.

    The huge facility where Olelo resides is paid for by a tiny percentage of what Oceanic brings in. Part of a governmental mandate to subsidize public access TV.

    With about 400,000 subscribers and a base rate of about $40 a month, Oceanic can bring in at least $16,000,000 each month. This doesn't include premium channels, HD service, cable phone service, etc. And doesn't take into account the cost of operations. However it does give you an idea of how much they receive in gross earnings each year: At least $192,000,000.
