Re: High Fructose Corn Syrup - BAD!

Wikipedia has an article on coconut sugar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coconut_sugar. Summing up, better.

Thanks, Greg. I found this article on sweeteners interesting, esp. since it didn't mention coconut sugar! But, it did mention stevia, my primary sweetening agent. Rodale is the publisher of Prevention magazine.

I read through the Rodale sweetener reference you gave. I am extremely distrustful of its references and reasoning. I think the stuff about sugar feeding cancer is especially silly. But there might be something to retaining impurities (in products like coconut sugar, brown sugar, blackstrap molasses) with the idea of moderating the rate at which sugars are metabolized. That could be good for diabetics.

Best is to just not eat much sugar.

A body has the ability to process many types of foods.

The basic food types are broken into three main categories.
          Carbohydrate, Fat , and Protein.

Protein is the actual building material of the body and is only consumed

when an individual is near physical starvation.

Fats are a complex chemical group .some burn with internal biochemical smoke and others burn with less. Not all fats are created equal.

Carbohydrates can range from fast burning sugars to
          slow burning starches.
Relying too much one type of food group can cause imbalance .

In addition to what it does to your glucose levels, the main reason to avoid it is it's all made with GMO corn. That in itself is poisoned, so any bi-product of it, is too.
