  • Advertiser pulls story on Quake 11/25/06

so what's up with the Advertiser?

I check today's online edition and find this story about the Big Island getting another quake this morning (?) but the story's been pulled: http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/ar...DWTdLTI9WlQ%3D

was there another quake today? (11/25/06). I haven't heard anyone mentioning here about another quake and I live on the Big Island.

Then there's this story in the Advertiser about a man that died drowing. He was identified as Greg Malkin, however at the bottom of the story it says, "he was not identified". http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/ar...835791406.html

What the heck is going on with the Advertiser today!

I noticed that too... I asked my wife... did you feel something this morning??? She said no!

It reported it to be 4.3 though I remember reading that!

Today's Advertiser pulls a story about another quake today here on the Big Island. Was there another quake or was that a typo?

Maybe they've already started outsourcing their copy desk to India. That wasn't due until next year....

              Thanks konaguy...

Now that this is on the other side of the Mtn. Range... is it still considered an aftershock? Or is this another earthquake?

Are we all just becoming more on guard after that big one...?

In my layman's opinion, the 5.0 earthquake that happened on Thursday was indeed an aftershock of the October 15 mega quakes. I don't think we are out of the woods either as so far these aftershocks.

Let's limit this discussion on the reason and speculation as to why The Advertiser pulled the story on the quake.

Discussion of the quake or other quakes are best taken elsewhere. There is an excellent thread going here on Hawaii's Severe Earthquakes.

KITV is now showing a crawl at the bottom of the screen during Extreme Home Makeovers that is saying that the "rumor" of an impending Earthquake is False.

What is this "Rumor" and how does someone even predict an impending earthquake?

It's now saying to stay tuned to KITV for more.

                    Anyone know of this "Rumor"?

KGMB has a ticker on the bottom now as well.

I've been watching TV/playing online for several hours now and I haven't heard of any rumors.

I did get worried when I saw KITV's initial alert. I read "earthquake", "tsunami", and "prediction" before I read "rumor".

It seems like this all came outta nowhere.
