  • Songs About War

Hot on the heels of "Songs About Crime", there's many songs that talk about the worst aspect of mankind: War.

Metal music has this subject thoroughly covered...

    War Pigs* - Black Sabbath

A few of MANY (if not all, LOL!) by Megadeth...
    Symphony of Destruction
    Peace Sells* (But Who's Buying?)

Gods of War* - Def Leppard (<--- one of their best "non-mainstream" songs)

    Allied Forces* - Triumph

Fight the Good Fight - Triumph

    Aces High* - Iron Maiden

The Trooper* - Iron Maiden (<--- cool video)

...there is SO MUCH more to add, but here's a start!

And #1 on the Top 10 list of Songs About War is played in churches and chapels everywhere:

          "Here Comes The Bride."

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

LOL! Should we start a thread titled "Songs About Love"? Oh man, that's probably the most covered topic of all, which the list could go on for days!

Uh, Mel already mentioned that one, which I didn't see, then I mentioned it. Now you.

Although White Rabbit (Jefferson Airplane) should be in the "Songs About Crime" thread (drugs), everytime I hear it I think of the Vietnam War. Probably because of the movie Platoon.

                      David Bowie's "Suffragette City."
The line "Ahhhh, wham, bam, thank you ma'am" is violent and war-like.
That is what he meant, I'm pretty sure.
And as my signature line below says...
                      .
                      .
