I grew up in Port Orchard, WA but....

the town next to Port Orchard, Bremerton, had a guy in Sir-Mix-A-Lot's posse from there so they wrote the song "Bremelo" in reference to the women there.

A little of both. When I was a kid and through most of my teen years, I was a huge fan of radio countdown shows, Casey Kasem's American Top 40 being my favorite. I listened to them all, and Casey had the best trivia information relating to songs about the seasons, moon, places, girls, etc. I remember a lot of the oldies from the 60s, 70s and 80s....

And I own many of the most popular hit singles and albums from those eras, which are mostly all burned to my Power Mac G4 external hard drive and accessed with iTunes. That program is like a giant data base that plays music and keeps track of song info that you can set up yourself. So if you ask for songs about "cities", besides the ones I remember, I go to the MUSIC library and sort out songs with city names like "Honolulu"... iTunes filters out all of the songs, artists and albums that do not contain key word "Honolulu" in it from where I derive my list.

Some songs I don't have but remember them so I add those in as well from memory or from a collection of local radio charts that I have... or even look em up on the internet.

A few more city / places songs:

San Francisco - The Village People
Chattanooga Choo Choo - Tuxedo Junction (disco version)
I Miss My Waimanalo Da Kine - Donna Butterworth
                    I'm still here. Are you?

Ah, Kittrick - just went through PO again last weekend. I like that little town (even though it's largely closed down on Sundays); the AF's folks were visiting recently from Kane`ohe, and we spent the weekend going holoholo through Bainbridge, Poulsbo and Port Orchard.

Slightly on/off-topic, Wisconsin folkies Lou & Peter Berryman have a song called "Your State's Name Here," a generic booster tune that has lyrics based around "(include local aspect of your choice)"-type opportunities, including local towns, songbirds, colloquialisms, and beer.

Unfortunatly, the song's title is Dirty Water - it's by the Standelles.
                          Here's a replacement:

Shipping off to Boston - The Dropkick Murphys
"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."
                          Socrates.

                            I don't think I know that song.

Here are other ones I just thought of:
                            Kaneohe - traditional Hawaiian
                            Hanalei Moon - hapa haole
                            Honolulu Baby - hapa haole
                            Ho'oheno Kalama'ula - Keali'i Blaisdell
                            'Alika
