Re: Chocolate shake?
Went by to Jack-in-the-Box this evening for dinner. It's a chocolate shake with crushed malt in the shake and not chocolate chips (sorry about that). The crushed malt fits into the straw but it's like sipping dirt (not that I eat dirt). I guess it would be nice if they had a spoon to go with it.

Re: Chocolate shake?
Bob's BBQ in Kalihi has a mean chocolate malt. Mmm.
However, I'm a big fan of making these at home. They're way cheaper and really easy, and I think they taste better.
You can get malt powder at the supermarket, in the same aisle as the other stuff you mix into milk (chocolate milk, Ovaltine, stuff like that). Then you just dump a few spoonsful into a large cup, scoop some ice cream, splash some milk, and whirr it around for a few seconds with a hand-held blender.
Also on the plus side: I like my malts really malty, and making them at home lets me get them as malty as I like. Plus, you can play around with flavors and other ingredients (non-fat ice cream and non-fat milk, for example, might not be nearly as tasty, but it's not a bad substitute for days when you're undeserving of a large plastic cupful of sin).
If you don't own a hand-blender, I highly recommend you get one. It's one of my trustiest home appliances. But I'm disturbed! I'm depressed! I'm inadequate! I GOT IT ALL! (George Costanza)
