  • Geocachers and Earth Day

If you're into geocaching, or hiking, or just the great outdoors, the folks at GPS Hawaii will be doing a park cleanup on Saturday, April 17 (Earth Day) in Kaimuki! As part of the global "Cache In, Trash Out" effort, we're tackling a popular hiking and park spot, and hanging out and having fun at the same time.

For more information, check out the GPS Hawaii site, or go directly to the Honolulu CITO event page at Geocaching.com here.

Earth Day is tomorrow! Do something nice for your mother (Earth).

Pictures from the local geocachers' clean up can be seen here. Picked up some trash, and got in some cache hunting as well!

Geocaching is great fun! Hiking to places we may not have gone to otherwise and always leaving an area better than when we found it. Back in April 2005, I hosted a clean up day named the ALA WAI 2005 CITO EVENT.(the link didn't work) A bunch of us worked hard to clean up the breakwater. Was a great day with a potluck picnic at Magic Island afterwards. I hope to do another next April. We'll see.
