  • Nigella on the Food Network

    Oh. My.

Nigella Lawson debuts on the Television Food Network October 1 with a new show, Nigella Feasts. I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle it! It's like a dream come true, only without the satin shorts.
But I'm disturbed! I'm depressed! I'm inadequate! I GOT IT ALL! (George Costanza)

      "Pure porn"?

Don't know what you're talking about.

Juss saw her on "Today" . . . I think . .. think . . . she baked sumpin with almonds. Looked sooo scrumptious and gorgeous and curvy. I'll bet delicious, too.

Just finished watching an episode for the first time today. "Weekend Wonders". The chicken and sausage dish and roasted potatoes looked pretty good. Also a chocolate cake (pass).

Her delivery was pretty plain and simple. Nothing exceptionally different or colorful than say, Martha Stewart. The camera angles and scripting gave me no impression this was "food porn". She's attractive for sure -- not as a sex goddess, but more in an elegant, mature woman kind of way.

At least she doesn't use and abuse those cheesy British slangs Jamie Oliver made me sick of hearing. "Pukka". "Peachy". Ughh.

Ever since Paul Deen got remarried, she's been using more and more sexual undertones in her script. Especially on her new food talk show. Must be a good marriage. lol

Individually, licking one's fingers or running one's tongue up and down a spoon coated with fresh whipping cream, might not be considered food porn. But when the super 8mm film is rolling and the camera man zooms in on these activities, it tends to heighten one's awareness that it's more than food that's cookin'.
