Speaking of Hawaiian Pidgin

Where did Hawaiian Pidgin originate from? When my parents, who are 100% Chinese from Guangdong, speak their limited English, there seems to be many similarities to Hawaiian pidgin words and the syntax too.

When I speak English to them I have to break into "Chinese Pidgin" so that they would understand better.
