  • Attending UH football games in person

So this past weekend was my first time paying to attend a UH football game (previous 56 games were as a UH Marching Band sax; yes, I was in school for a looooong time ). I was glad that the first opponent I paid to see was a quality team (Oregon State) from a quality conference (Pac-10). However, a lot of the circumstances and fan culture sorta needs some change.

The parking lots closed at about 5 PM, so my friends and I were forced to tailgate at Kmart, and then park at the Arizona Memorial, and trek it up to the stadium. Walking through the lot, we found HUNDREDS of empty parking stalls. Manage the parking a lot better next time, people.

Fairweather fans, you were exposed on national TV. What other school has fans stomping and shouting "OFFENSE!" while the home team is attempting a potentially game-winning drive? I know the fans meant well, but it was embarassing to see and hear everyone going crazy when several players on UH (including Brennan) were asking the crowd to quiet down so that the 11 players could hear the audibles and adjustments.

And as much as you appreciate the Warriors, please stop instigating beefs with the f-in' haole or go home, haole ish. That really has nothing to do with what goes on on the field, and it's more bigoted and ignorant than anything.

Building a quality football program starts with the fans.
