I was going thru some archived radio files when I came across a print out from the AP-wire service dated 9-16-01: AP v1783 rv 1a1--Attack: Victims Database ADVISORY9-16, from their AP Broadcast News Center compiling the total victims listed as confirmed or reported dead from the attacks on 9-11.
It contained the URL: http://attacks.ap.org/ for the database and log on information for AP subscribers. I was surprized that database was updated as recently as August 22nd of last year (2006). Sorry I cannot divulge the log on information.
But what's even more surprizing was when I came across CNN's memorial database: http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/memorial/index.html and found this one to be more comprehensive.
CNN used most of the photo's supplied from AP however CNN was also able to get photo's of victims while AP wasn't and CNN had links for each victim for tributes.
AP's list had a confirmed/reported dead count of 2973.
