  • Aloha, Mr. Checkers.

I grew up watching the Checkers & Pogo Show in my early childhood, though I never had the fortune to be on the show. Funny but it took just a few years ago for me to find out who plays Mr. Checkers (Jim Demarest).

Now, he has left this world.

Mahalo for making us kids have fun every afternoon.

oh jeez I'm going to cry now.
"Luke, help me take this mask off. Just for once, let me look at you with my own eyes. No, it turns the other way, Luke. To the left. No, to your left. Push down and twist. Line up the little arrows. Never mind, I'll do it."

      How sad!

Television was different then, more concentrated, more localized, and affected more people. I remember (and enjoyed) Checkers and Pogo.

Rest in peace. You'll always be in our memories.
