  • HT's Photo Sharing Thread - Chapter 2

Today we had a small gathering of Flickr photographers on the North Shore. We met up at Ke Iki Beach, a hidden gem just past Waimea Bay. It was overcast, drizzling now and then, and at midday what light we got was stark and harsh.

But, of all the photos I took, one stood out immediately. Scanning the "contact sheet" in Adobe Bridge, it was as if my camera, for one moment, decided to rescue me from my amateurish fumbling and grab just the right balance of color, contrast, and focus. It truly did stand out, even from across the room.

So, I can't resist sharing my completely accidental photo of the day... my daughter Katie and her new friend Ben, sizing up the churning surf:

Here's a photo of my daughter Jasmine, who lives in Adelaide South Australia.
I took it off her "MySpace". She grown into a lovely young woman!

Very nice, MM. It's often a joy to see how our children turn out as adults (I say "often," because...well, you other parents of grown children know...)
What took her to Adelaide? That's a beautiful city - very old in style, if not in age. Cleland Conservation Park (nearby) was astounding.

ok, so here is my Bee on a flower shot

and here is another flying friend

and I just thougt this was an awesome flower. Plants amaze me. To think there one purpose is to be attractive to attract insects, to cross pollinate and reproduce. How nature evolved is amazing to me.

The bee shot is awesome and so is the dragonfly. I've taken my share of flower photos: BuzzNet Flowers and Flickr Flower shots.

            I'm still here. Are you?

The red flower is the Lehua which grows on the Ohia Tree. I shot it at Volcanoes National Park 2 years ago.

Her mother moved to Australia with her when Jasmine was 6. Jazz bounced back and forth living with each of us for periods of time. Now she is working on a Master's degree in psychology (Probably because her Mom and I drove her crazy ) so she's trying to figure it all out. Really though, she has turned out to be a wonderful person and I'm very proud of her in many ways.
