    At least in Washington State, anyway. The State Supreme Court threw out a law that made it illegal to lie about yourself or another candidate for office on the grounds that it infringed upon an individual's right to free speech.

    So how are you supposed to know when a candidate is telling the truth? Hook him up to a lie detector?

        That's easy, a candidate is telling the truth when silent. Words are artificial representations and cannot overcome that obstacle.
