My 1995 Dodge Caravan finally bit the bullet last week. (Yes, it has its own web page, so?) So, shunning my evil bank, I joined a credit union and got a small used car loan and am now in the market for a replacement.
I'm hoping for something newer than 2000, with fewer than 80,000 miles, with A/C and (of course) in relatively good mechanical condition for about $7000. I've browsed Craigslist, listing aggregators like Cars.com and Carfax, and have visited a few dealers on the Windward side. Lots fit the criteria on paper, but some were disasters in person (like the Oldsmobile Silhouette with bug bombs set off inside.) My best prospect so far is a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport, which is in good shape and has low mileage but came from Georgia and the A/C is deader than dead. I was this close to signing on the dotted line on Sunday, but as the days pass, I'm less and less enamored.
So anyway, if you know someone upgrading their family van or know someone who knows someone at a dealer (as long as it's not Tony), let me know!
