  • How 'bout them psycedelic geckos!

Havn't seen any mention anywhere about the more aggressive and very beautiful 'gecko' taking over territories from the usual plain jane types.

No idea where they came from, but I like them better than the familiar, and now boring, brown geckos.

Don't know if they too have camoflage abilities, as I've not seen one change from their standard brilliant green w/red spots and other flecks of color.

We got them big time in Waialua. Anybody else?

Don't think I've seen those new ones yet. Got a pic by chance, Ron?

        Nope. That's a chameleon.

These, of which I speak (I'll assume) are geckos, as we know them in shape, but now with a very distinct party suit on, and a bit more buff.

When you do see one, you'll know!

Since it's psycedelic, I wonder if you can Hoy Hoy trap a gecko. When it dries up, you can smoke it like Tommy Chong for a psycedelic hit.

Be careful, some of the newer geckos are indeed more aggressive and sometimes bite (or so I've read).

I think the picture that 68-eldo posted is an anole. In Hawaii, they're basically brown or green. There used to be a lot of them around, but I haven't seen very many of them lately.

                    Yep. Cute, eh?
The colors are way more intense when viewed in person, in the sunlight, and under the 'right circumstances'...

I find it hard to believe that these are so under the radar.
I've had them around for a few years now. Maybe it's a Waialua thing.

Is that a Tokay gecko in the picture? The Oahu Invasive Species Committee has this to say about them.
