Mayor Mufi Hannemann has announced that Honolulu will be participating in the nationwide Olympic Day celebrations to show support for the U.S. bid for the 2016 Olympics in Chicago, with the first ever "Honolulu Olympic Celebration," June 15-23.
Saturday, June 20 at 5:30 p.m. there will be a 5K Run/Walk at Les Murakami Stadium at the University of Hawaii. "Sunset on the Field" will follow at 6:45 with former Olympians in attendance, food booths, live entertainment by Kalapana and the movie "Miracles" on the big screen.
