  • Deaths in June

    Duke Bainum
    David Carradine
    Ed McMahon
    Farrah Fawcett
    Michael Jackson

It just seems a lot of well-known people going in a short period of time.
    Four, at least, world renown.

Oh Chu. If only you could have seen what I've seen, with your eyes.

Former Kailua resident, and certainly more influential to me than all the others combined.

      Now Gale Storm and
      Billy Mays....

I can't recall so many celebrity deaths in such a short period before.

It's happening all the time, we just don't get the news about most of them. And the 'deaths in 3s' thing is pure poppy cock.

This is the same timeline and disease that took my best friend...only Carolyn was dx'd in 2001 and died in 2008. A terrible way to die.

RIP, Fred. You were an incredible talent.

My dad had the chronic lymphocytic leukemia form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. There's a whole family of the NHL types:

My FIL has CLL and had a horrible summer last year with the chemo and
blood transfusions. He was just in the hospital again for surgery and had
to stay longer due to his white blood cell count. His immune system is
very compromised and just about anything is dangerous for him in terms
                    of infection and other complications.

I can't believe I neglected to mention this June death...Kenny Rankin.

So, I've lost count. Too many...too much sadness.

                        Re: Deaths in June

Many years ago, my comedy troupe did a sketch about a marketing meeting of cavemen (yes, this was LONG before Geico - we did this in the late '70s). Part of the difficulty in running their business was that their ability to count was limited to:

                        "One...

                        ...two...

                        ...three...

                        ...more-than-three."

Perhaps the sadness we express over these famous deaths in June would be lessened were we only able to look at them as "more-than-three."

Now Karl Malden takes us into July.
Nine in June - 1 (so far) in July.
