Dulse/Jelly
Made from Kelp/Seawead and lasts in a jar for ages. It is eaten in France, Ireland and England.
Method
Rinse the seawead in fresh water and boil in a large pan for about an hour.
Remove the seawead and put on a washing line to dry. It becomes delicious as a snack when it's dried.
The rest of the stuff in the pan, settles and cools into a sort of jelly. It becomes solid and can be spread on bread, along with whatever else takes your fancy.
It doesn't need to be frozen. Just pop it in a cupboard and you have got a handy snack when you want it.
If you re-heat some of it then it goes back into liquid form and becomes a lovely soup.
In Wales they call this Lava Bread.
