I have reframed from participating in this discussion because, if one doesn't have something nice to say, it is better to say nothing at all.

Ask yourself the following question?

Does the text I (as in you, not me) wanted to post keeps the thread on-topic? If the answer is yes then you should post your stuff, negative it might be.

On the other hand if the answer to the above question is no then you have the choice of not responding to the thread at all or create a new thread if you feel whatever you have to say might generate responses that would take the discussion to another path.

I think you're right, Tutu. Matapule is an extremely experienced long-distance boater, and I'm pretty sure that the in his post means that he's just as angry about that whole Abby Sunderland situation as most of the rest of us. Perhaps more so.
The other possibility is that he totally disagrees with what I, you and others have written. But I strongly doubt that's the case.
C'mon, Matapule, dive on in, the water's fine! (As long as you're not in the Southern Indian ocean, that is.)

i remember im not to start any new thread's without your approval and i'll have this in my thought's always.again my truest and humblest apologie's to you our mod helen.

You (and everyone else) don't need my approval to start a new thread, but you should check to see if what you are trying to post already exist.

And in the case of natural events like earthquakes, hurricanes, or tsunamis should have its own thread when it happens, not tacked on to an older thread.

I know that was aimed at Walkoff Balk, but... isn't Hawaii Threads a DISCUSSION GROUP?!?
Ergo, why would anyone post if they didn't want replies, commonly known as, you know, a discussion.
If someone doesn't expect replies, wouldn't it be better to post on a personal blog?
