  • Peter Frampton - Nov. 15

Mr. 'Shine On' will hit the NBC http://tgif.staradvertiser.com/archives/6386

I saw him the night before in Berdoo (opening for Black Sabbath/Lynyrd Skynyrd/Brownsville Station) prior to playing the Cow Palace in Frisco '76 when he made that multi kazillion platinum LP which made him famously rich.
But the real gig was '71 (or 2) at the Sacramento Civic Aud. with Humble Pie! I went in totally straight, and not one jerk would share anything, but the music sent me out higher than a kite!

    Rock On!

I think this will be a really good show, it's right around my birthday so maybe I'll go celebrate there!

I saw his "Behind the Music" episode 10 years ago and everytime I see his name, all I can remember is some dude being interviewed and saying, "Peter Frampton is over. He's a lunchbox." Ha! Obviously not!

Can't think of anything creative this time

He had a great part in "Almost Famous" one of my favorite movies.

I'm not going. It'll be good, but there's no way I'd pay $50 to see him today. Bring back Steve Marriott/Greg Ridley from the grave to reunite Humble Pie and I'd instantly sell my soul to the fire guy to be there. Today, nobody but Neil Young/Crazy Horse comes light years close to what prime Pie were on stage.

His son will be with him for a few songs out of a possible 3 hr. set. This should be a great show. Did they add a 2nd?

What a show! Wonderful! And yes, I can say "8-Track!" Cruisin' around in my '64 Studebaker Avanti in 1976 rockin' to Peter back then!

Didn't see you either MM - I looked! Next time!

I only have one manini quibble with it. You wrote "(...) and Frampton also does that talk-box effect, which he’s probably the only guitarist in the world to have mastered."
You should have added "other than Joe Walsh." to the end of that sentence.
Great review from you and nice hearing from MM and LL too!
