The last two times I have been to the Blimpie's at the Kaheka Street Daiei they didn't put cheese in the sandwich. The person making the sandwich didn't ask and neither did I say anything. Unless they never put cheese in the first place and I didn't notice it before.

Boy aren't you glad they didn't ask if you wanted Natto in your sub too! :D

My wife is quick to point out that, when Subway crows about its "only 6 grams of fat! (http://www.subway.com/applications/NutritionInfo/nutritionlist.aspx?CountryCode=USA&ID=sandwich)" menu, the fine print notes that you only get there by leaving out cheese, mayo, and oil, among other condiments. Yet, by default, you're prompted to choose a cheese, and of course you're going to specify other add-ons... that's the way Subway stores are set up!

By that standard, Burger King could say it offers a Whopper with only 6 grams of fat, too. But the little asterisk will point you to the bottom of the page where it notes that you need to order your Whopper without the meat, mayo, or bread.

Once the Downtown McDonalds (is it still there?) lost it's ability to cook so they could only serve uncooked products. Being the only place open on Saturday on Richard street, I ordered a sandwich. No patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun and lots of mayo made for one decent veggie sandwich. I told them they should sell more of that. Okay it wasn't a vegan sandwich but it was good enough for this carnivore.

Remember the Big Mac recipe? Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. Damn I can still remember that one. Grab a bucket and mop, scrub the bottom and top, there's nothing so clean, as my burger machine, You deserve a break today so get up and get away at McDonalds! 1972! when Big Macs cost 65-cents and people complained at it's high price.

have you seen those new Subway sandwich commericals comparing the Big Mac with three Subway sandwiches then read the fine print? If you take out the cheese and mayo from the subs then it's that much healthier than a Big Mac. What's a sub sandwich without mayo much less cheese?

And if you're gonna compare a Big Mac with beef and all the trimmings you should do likewise with a beef sub sandwich with all the trimmings. It's only fair and balanced.

I'll bet if you took that sub sandwich and compared it against a McChicken without the tartar sauce you'd have a closer comparison since Subway's sub sandwich they're using for comparison is a chicken sub not a roast beef one that most people normally buy in a sub.

Are the sandwich ingredients listed on a menu, somewhere? Maybe posted on the wall at the shop?

I can remember my first trip to Honolulu.

There was a burger place with a small upstairs veranda just off the main street

Sadly, the next time I returned it had been turned into a characterless box.

I think it was burger king or it may have been jack in the box.

My father walked down the street and returned with a copy of the

Wall Street Journal .

And a beer in a small brown bag.

The second floor balcony gave a great view of the all the parties .

We were at the "Reef" and there was some serious parties going on.

After a long flight to the island I turned on the telly and relaxed with

a nice old episode of "Star Trek":)
