So there I was last night, scrolling through the TV listings on Oceanic channel 12 while they were playing some local music, and I heard a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Ribbon In The Sky" that gave me chickenskin to da max! Just acoustic guitar and one amazing voice.
Did a little searching this morning and found it was by a local guy named Aziel, and the song is only on the 2004 CD "Tiny CD 4: Motown Hawaiian Style". (I'm no fan of Tiny Tadani, but.)
Go to http://www.mele.com/v3/info/2852.htm and click on the "Ribbon In The Sky" link to hear a 60-second piece of the song. Or go to a record store and pull it up on a listening station to hear the whole song.
Without any question in my mind, this one ought to win every possible Hoku Award it can be nominated for, and it ought to be in major rotation on every radio station possible.
Anybody know anything about Aziel?
Or if anyone has the CD, can you please check the liner notes and let me know what it says for that song? (Did Aziel also play guitar on it; if not, who did?)
