The Transportation Security Association recently hosted a fete for their employees that cost us, the taxpayers, nearly half a million dollars! The rationale was that it was a reward to all the TSA staff who had worked so hard during such a stressful period.
How many more TSA security checkpoint staff could have been employed for a year for that amount? How much more xray equipment could that have bought? Why did the TSA think it could have its little party and not have the American public know that the department gave $16,000 bonuses to its senior managers and way way less to the people actually doing the work? Government bureaucracy rewarding its own again.
