It looks like I have a broken video card also (along with a dead motherboard).
I thought I'd switch the video cards with my computer and my brother's computer (its the only computer in the house that doesn't have integrated graphics) and first, I thought I'd try my video card in his computer, to make sure that it works before I steal their video card. Lo and behold, the screen ends up like what mine looks like when I installed a new mobo: an 8 bit screen.
I'll try their video card in my computer, and if it works, then I'm shopping for a new video card. But the only thing stopping me, is that I have $50 in my budget, and I don't want to get a video card that will break my Mom's credit card.
Anyone can send me an AGP video card that will last me until I can upgrade to something better? It has to display a high resolution (I usually like it at 1280x1024) and last me a while. I have $50 in my debit card, but I think I can get something for $90.
