I was amazed by the score for the movie, "The Village." It is sinister and melancholy, as you would expect from a horror movie, but then a solo violin comes in and brings tenderness and emotion, tempering the dark, brooding tone. Simply gorgeous!
The nominees are:
* Finding Neverland
* Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
* The Village
* Harry Potter
* The Passion of the Christ
And your pick for the Oscar is...?
