I like them both, too. BumbleBee has the better jingle, but Coral seems to go on sale more often. Coral.

I'm old enough to remember SeaFlite, but too young to have ridden on it; still, I like the idea a LOT, especially if it's cheaper. SeaFlite.

d) Donnelly or Harada?
Geez. I can't really stand either of them, but since Donnelly was Mr. Checkers for a year, I'll take him.

e) Iida's or Shirokiya?
Now, this isn't really a fair comparison, since Iida's only sells STUFF (not food). One of the Iidas is my high school classmate (HBA represent!) so I'm going with Iida's.

f) Jasmine or Camile?
Jasmine's cuter, but Camille has a better voice. Jasmine.

g) Dippin' Dots or Cold Stone?
Love 'em both for different reasons. Cold Stone.

h) Jade or Yick Lung?
How any, any, anyone take Jade over Yick Lung?

i) Bruce Carter or Hari Kojima?
It was best when Bruce did the narratives and Hari did the cooking demos.

I lived right across the street from Sunset, but Kam had the cool attach-to-your-antenna speaker-thingie. Kam.

k) Studebakers or Ocean Club?
I hate clubs. I like watching the pretty young things lining up to get in, though, so on that basis, Ocean.

m) Ken's or Cafe 100?
Oh, no contest. Ken's. By a million miles. Ken's is open 24 hours a day; Cafe 100 is closed on Sunday. That by itself is enough.

n) Carolyn Sapp or Angela Baraquio?
Oh, tough call. Carolyn had a couple of nicer, er, gifts. But Angela had that lovely, lovely smile, and she was a teacher when she won. Angela by a nose.

o) Food Stamps or EBT?
EBT is so much better, and leaves less room for abuse. When I worked in a mom-and-pops in Hilo, a group of kids would walk in with one $1 food-stamp coupon each, and each would buy a twenty-five-cent pack of chewing gum. Ten seconds after the kids would leave, a grownup would walk in with a handful of quarters and buy a six-pack of Bud. On the other hand, when the EBT system's on the blink, what are people supposed to do?

p) Brick & Kimo or Brick & Frank?
Yick. I don't like these choices at all, but since I like Frank, I'll take Brick and Frank.

q) Kikaida or Kamen Rider?
Kikaida. The story is much better and much darker.

r) Keo or Chai?
Both are overrated and overpriced. Slight edge to Keo.

s) Monorail or Walk your own self over to Phase II?
It's such a short walk.

t) Castle Park or Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park?
Castle Park!

u) Bunbundo or Hakubundo?
I've been a steady customer of Hakubundo for about three years and have only had wonderful service. Larger number of cute girls, too.

v) Oceanic Digital TV interactive games or TV-Pow?
I dislike them both, but at least TV-Pow didn't cost money.

w) Sonya Mendez & Revolucion or Hat Makes The Man?
Both very, very good live acts! Hat Makes the Man rocked better, though. And isn't one of the Poi Dog Pondering guys from Hat?

I don't remember the McKinley Carnival, unless you mean the Farm Fair when it was held there. If so, I'll take McKinley because I like the livestock exhibits. If not, I'll take Punahou because I'm a private-school grad and the Punahou Carnival is loaded with great memories for me.

y) Five-O or Magnum?
My dad did a walk-though on an episode of Five-O, but Magnum really did have better writing, and there was some great character-development to boot. Remember that fourth-of-July episode, when the entire episode consisted of Magnum treading water in the ocean after having lost his kayak and having flashbacks of memories with his father? Brilliant.

I worked at the Honolulu Club when Rewald was around; if you remember the picture of him when he was arrested he was wearing a t-shirt with the Club logo on it. Talk about a furious owner the next day!
