I've only been to Sushi Sasabune once, but it's pretty much the high-water mark for me when it comes to sushi. Not a bargain by any stretch of the imagination, however. I do like to go to the sushi bar at the Pagoda, and at Kabuki across from the Municipal Building, but that's more for old time's sake. Most of the time, I just hit Sushi-Man for a good-to-go sushi lunch.
Speaking of sushi, there's a Japanese word or phrase that I'm looking for -- it's when you invite the sushi chef to make your choices for you, instead of ordering from him. A friend of mine did this when we were sitting at the bar at a high-class place once; the chef was pleased as punch and gave us really amazing stuff. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

The word you're looking for is omakase. And that's the best way to experience Sushi Sasabune. Not only do they choose for you, but they instruct you on the proper way to eat and appreciate each item. This one you add shoyu, this one you don't, this one you put in your mouth all at once, this one you can bite. Very strange, but educational, and again, all the harassment in the world and that sushi would still be worth it.
Maybe I haven't been exposed to sushi restruants before, but those pictures I saw make my mouth water. Only places I ate sushi from was from peoples parties. I know SAD Maybe I should go out more, which I do I just don't go to Sushi Restruants, but I think I maybe missing out on something. Mmmmm. I can just imagine it.
