  • interesting article on the kyoto protocol

    http://www.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/...20050728sh.htm

in my short lifetime, i've seen some changes that i wouldn't believe would be possible:

    * bottled water? what a crazy idea. who would buy bottled water???

    * the beaches at kihei. used to be all dirt roads and keawe trees. not anymore.

    * opihi all over the place. looks like they packed up their bags and went somewhere else.

    * seaweed. must have moved with the opihi.

    * mountain apples. maybe they moved with the seaweed?

    gone are the days....
525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year?

Hehhehheh. Not all the beaches in Kihei have paved roads and parking lots, and the locals aren't telling outsiders where those "wild" beaches are!
The cynics and the policy makers in Washington DC say, "who cares, it won't happen in our lifetime..." while the Native Americans and the kanaka maoli worry about the health and fates of people 7 generations into the future.
