  • Aloha,R.I.P. Bart Bascone

I read today's paper and it said that Bart Bascone(sp.)pasted away at the age of 55. For those of you too young to remember HOMEGROWN, Bart was the talented singer/songwriter/musician who did "Makapu'u" on album 1. He also wrote Don Ho's comeback hit "Who IS Da Lolo Who Stole My Pakalolo".

Ride da waves and enjoy the "chicks" Bart!"

Many condolences to you and your ohana on the passing of your brother, Judy. He sounded like a really neat person, and he worked with some of my favorite singers (Keali'i, Uluwehe, etc.). I can understand why he will be cast to the winds off Kihei. His spirit is tied to Maui no ka oi.

He also did a disco version of Blue Hawaii with a bit of Tahitian influences in it. Kamasami Kong premiered it on his show on KKUA. I got that broadcast archived on Cassette tape somewhere in my closet. I've been meaning to transfer all of those cassette tape recordings to MP3 one day.

My prayers goes out to you and the family of the late and great Bart Bascone. He did some wonderful pieces for my all-time favorite hawaiian music artist, Keali'i Reichel.
