  • Phones in the 21st century?

    While camera wireless phones have been out for some time, I notice there are TV ads now that are plugging wireless phones that can send video. I guess this is okay if the other end has a wireless phone that can receive the video.

    So this begs the question when is someone going to sell a wire based phone that can either display a still or an video image?

    Probably never. If the phone companies were smart enough, they would incorporate those two technologies and make it compatible with one another (make it so that a landline videophone can call a cellular video phone, and vice versa.)

    Not all people want to use a video phone in the future (old people, disabled people, etc.), and a landline video phone is still a great idea.
