I finally found a site that describes how to hook up your front mounted USB ports on a generic case.

I fried one of my USB ports when I wired it up wrong (never try watching a 19-month old on a warpath) when attempting to build a computer. That computer is now my younger kid's computer as they don't need the that one of four USB connectors that literally caught fire when I wired it up wrong.
