I was doing some websurfing this weekend and came across this website of one of my all time favorite local bands Seawind. www.seawindjazz.com For thoses of you too young to remember Seawind was sort of a jazz/ gospel band from the mid seventies to early eighties that was fronted by a Big Island girl Pauline Abong Wilson. They were the first island group to get a Grammy nomination in the jazz field. I 'm glad thier music is finally being released on CD. I you want to hear great island music give Seawind a try.

Re: Seawind is back on the WEB
So if you are fans of Seawind, you will certainly remember that before they were called "Seawind," they were called "Ox" and played at the Red Door behind International Marketplace. This was in the very late 60s/very early 70s.
They changed their name to Seawind when Who bassist John Entwhistle started up a band, named it Ox and put out an album.

They were the hottest thing in Waikiki. And I did see them at Andews Amphitheater, but that was a little later.Make trouble, have fun, do good stuffs.

Re: Seawind is back on the WEB
I, too, am old enough to remember Seawind and absolutely loved their music. I lost custody of their albums (yes, albums!) during my divorce! Thanks for the purchase link. I just checked the iTunes Music Store and Seawind doesn't have a presence there. Hey iTunes...get on it!!!

Re: Seawind is back on the WEB
You guys notice (from the web site) that they did a REUNION CONCERT THIS YEAR? In Cerritos, of all places!
I wonder why they don't come do a reunion concert here? I mean, if they did two sold out shows in Cerritos, they'd sell out the Blaisdell a couple of nights here. If they came, I would definitely go.

Re: Seawind is back on the WEB
Hi,
I'm from Japan.
Seawind is my idol for about 30 years.
I think Seawind is/was one of the best.
Where are they? Except Jerry Hey and Larry Williams.
I love Pauline.
Some Years ago, I had a contact with the manager of seawind.com, and the original producer Blue Johnson. And he said like this. But NOthing I got, lol, but O.K with that.
"Aloha Yutaka!
Thank you very much for your e-mail and nice compliments! If you e-mail me your mailing address, I will send you some Seawind CD's (free of charge)! It's our way of thanking you for being such a true Seawind fan!
All the best,
Blue Johnson & Seawind

really incredible group.
Regretfully, at this moment, I don`t have any of their
materials, because of my bankruptcy, lost everything,
but I had all of them before.
I loved, and love the music of Seawind for a long
time.
In your news, I am so glad to find they are alive and
well. Pauline,Bob,Larry,Jerry,Kim,Bud,Ken and you.
Now I see your photo, and Jerry`s in the booklet of
David Garfield`s "Tribute to Jeff",this one is very
nice.
Btw, I had some of noteworthy, including all of
Michael Paulo`s, You made truly a lot of excellent
works, and I thank you for that.
Love,
