  • Favorite Rock Songs played on a UKULELE?

I bought a ukulele recently.. and some rock songs are transferable.. and make some interesting sounding music.

Thompson Twins' "HOLD ME NOW" comes to mind.. who would have thought?

    What else?

Go out and get Queen's A Night at the Opera. There's a song called Seaside Rendevouz(sp.) it's all done with ukulele.

Jack Johnson's new single "Breakdown" features the uke.

Anyone hear Paul McCartney play the uke? Sure did in 1971 on the title track of the "Ram" album. I would not put that song in my list of "favorite rock song" on the uke. I've heard kids play "Hawaii Five-0" on the uke better than Sir Paul.

George Harrison was a big ukulele fan even before he moved to the Islands, if I remember the stories correctly.

Just curious.. does George Harrison have a home now in Hawaii? Where? For how long? (or in the past, when?)

            Just curious..

I'd love to hear Stairway to Heaven...the long version on a Uke.

Errr. George Harrison died in 2001. He did have a house on Maui.

i saw paul macartney play "something" on the uke as a tribute to george. very touching and it brought the house down.

george harrison would often go to blackpool for the ukelele festivities.

Yes, I thought that was very toucing and unique. Paul's uke playing is very basic, but he got by ok with that classic song. I have it on the Paul McCartney concert video DVD "Back in the U.S."
