  • A&B sells last interests in C&H sugar

Another one bites the dust. C&H, which used to stand for "California & Hawai'i" will now be completely owned by American Sugar, a New York company, which dominates the East Coast market with Domino Sugar.

The brand C&H will remain, but the last remaining direct ties to the Hawaiian sugar industry will now disappear into the sunset. A&B will probably sell its output to American Sugar, which is why A&B considers it a "nonevent."
