  • The Last Samurai on dvd...

I just got it over the weekend and, being one to not have seen it on the big screen, watched it for the first time the other night.

    Oooooo...
Even though I'm not a big Tom Cruise fan (I actually cringe when I see him act), this was one hot movie!!

Tom Cruise was good in Top Gun...I've not seen the Last Samurai yet.

Get it. You won't be disappointed. Of course, being that I went to Japan last year for the first time may have helped spawn my interest a bit, but still, I think it's a good movie.

I agree with kukui_nut, you gotta see that movie! Hubby and I watched it in the theater and thought that the countryside scenes were beautiful!

since i'm a manager in a video store..we get a chance to view movies every now & then while they're still in the theatre..i DIDN'T want to see this!! not a tom cruise fan!! nothing personal but he looks like a cousin who killed my pet frog...anyway,after being out on dvd for months, i finally rented it!!it's great!! has a lil bit of everything in it..i usually watch all the goofy & cheesy movies..but, this is def. a keeper...

I don't see it as "cheesy & goofy",
            as you put it, makepagirl.
Though I wouldn't know anything about that.
I really like the movie myself, as well as Tom Cruise.
I thought it was really good, & well done.
Infact, the whole movie, kind of reminds me of...
Dances with Wolves (with Kevin Costner), doesn't it?.
I think it is the same principle.
An american gets invited in with the
exact enemy that they are fighting against &
            be friended with them.
I'm glad you liked the movie, any way.

            Aloha & Take care.
