Recently, in the city of Toledo, Ohio, a race riot broke out because of a street gang and someone they were picking on... because Nazis who had nothing to do with the quarrel waded into the fray. The Nazis apparently got what they wanted - havoac wreaked by folks they didn't like because of their race - but this wasn't nice, and both sides were being stupid. The Nazis were stupid, first of all, for being bigoted. They chose unwisely to cause trouble by marching in a mostly black neighborhood over something that had no real relevance to them (street gangs picking on their neighbor), and, furthermore, by picking on street gangs, organizations based on criminal and/or violent activity. They knew what they were doing. They wanted trouble, and they got trouble. Who did they blame for the trouble? The police... for not letting them march. Way to go.
The gangs went overboard themselves, burning a bar that had nothing to do with either Nazis or the police, picking on the police when the police had already taken care of the Nazis, and losing their cool and therefore falling right into the Nazis' trap. Furthermore, both groups have the city of Toledo ticked off at them. Now, I don't expect anything nice either of Nazis or of gangs, but when they are allowed to explode like this, it eerily reminds one of Weimar Germany. see here.
