What songs makes you flashback?

My career development teacher just put on some boys to men songs, and some of the songs (if not all) has turned on some memories that I remembered when I first listend to those songs. Because of these flashbacks, I can't even do the assigned work.

Rush - Big Money
Flock of Seagulls - I Ran
...to name a few!

Also, my older sister cranking The Osmonds and Jackson Five albums over, and over and over and over. Drove me NUTS.

Saturday night, March 2, 1974. Cecilio & Kapono's very first concert together at the Waikiki Shell. What an incredibly happy night of music that was. Getting loaded wasn't a matter of choice as the air was literally intoxicating from all the thick, second-hand pakalolo smoke.

Lots of songs from the mid 60s through the 1970s... makes me think about events during my childhood and growing up. Too many song titles to mention, but I have some of them listed here and there.

Uh...anything from the late 80s/early 90s I guess, because I'm like, so old...my parents said my favorite songs to "sing" when I was 5 were "Love Shack" and uh..."I Touch Myself."

That one by Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band... a standard on classic rock radio these days and made more famous after it was used in the 1983 Tom Cruise movie Risky Business. Great song!

And of course, none of my relatives bothered to stop me from singing it then or as I got older, they thought it was "cute."

Psychology experts say the songs that resonate most with us are the ones from our high-school years, due to that period of time being so critical in our early development into adulthood. That would explain why I most enjoy stuff from the early to mid 1970s.

However, since I didn't grow up in Hawai`i, I didn't hear the sounds of groups from that era, like Kalapana, Country Comfort, C+K, Olomana, Beamer Brothers, etc., until much later. When I did, it was like discovering a treasure chest of "lost" material that has that "sound," so it has a similar resonance for me.
