This morning's online Advertiser had a story on Lahaina Inter.'s plan to bring in drug sniffing dogs on campus. They said it is to protect students. The BOE is looking into the legal part of it. This sounds like a good idea, but without cause, it seems a bit extreme to me.
What disturbed me the most about this article is this statement made by a Maui
BOE member:
Do you really think the public wants to here this? To me it sounds like Ms. Cochran was saying , "violate the children's civil rights....nothing going happen to you".
Auwe!

Don't waste time. Go for it," said board member Mary Cochran of Maui. "What's the worst that's going to happen? You're going to get your wrist slapped or you're going to get sued."
