The Oscar Nominations were announced this morning in Hollywood. I'm shocked King Kong didn't get a best picture nod. The "Cowboys" from Brokeback Mountain got 8. Crash is my favorite to win this year.
Oh Well......

Geez. I think this is the first year that I've not seen a single film in the "Best Picture" category.
In fact, we barely saw any films anywhere on that list. "March of the Penguins" in documentary, and "Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit." (Is it obvious we have kids?) Oh, and "King Kong" and "Star Wars III," which are in there for technical or other accolades.
Overall it seems like it was a decent year for "good" films. At least in a few months we'll have some good stuff to watch from Netflix!
I'm in the same boat with pzarquon - I haven't seen one of them. Of course, I haven't seen many films this year at all. They all seem quite dreary though which means they're probably relevant and likely boring. I go to the movies to be entertained not lectured and I do have a preference for escapist movies.
